The Survivor's Quest: A New Book About Recovery

Sometimes, evil does not translate into violence or murder. Sometimes, evil can be difficult to detect. It can be masked by charm and flattery, and it is often perpetuated by pathological lying, projection, and various other mind games. No matter how hidden it may be, evil always devastates—and isolates—any normal person who is touched by it. ​

When I first joined the PsychopathFree community in March of 2013, my only hope was that the members here would be nice to me. Really, that was my only hope! Well…not only were they kind, they exceeded my expectations in countless ways! Because of this forum, I have established beautiful friendships with other survivors, something I never imagined would happen. They shared their inner selves with me and with others, and as I read story after story on PF, I found that my head began to clear. My new friends also helped me find the courage within to write about my own feelings, ideas, overwhelming pain, and reassuring breakthroughs. And as I shared the deepest parts of myself along the way, I gradually discovered that light and hope surrounded me once again.

Immediately after I was discarded by the psychopath, I believed that my despair would never end. But when I found this forum, I realized I was not alone, and thanks to the support I received here and elsewhere, I was able to find my way out of the darkness. I am proof that things can and will get better!! In The Survivor’s Quest, I expand on the articles I have contributed to PsychopathFree, and I summarize what I have learned over the course of my recovery journey. I share my personal struggles and triumphs, along with validation, encouragement, and practical strategies for healing.

I am using my PF username as my author name in order to protect my safety and the safety of others. Also, other than my own experiences, I have no special credentials for writing this book; I am a teacher of young children. However, I have completely transformed my life for the better, despite my encounter with evil. And if I can do that, then all survivors can!
